Reuters - Secondhand exposure to cigarette smoke is an asthma trigger in children and a new study shows that smoking by the primary caregiver and daycare provider are important sources of smoke exposure in children with asthma.

Nuts like walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts are rich sources of omega 3 fatty acids and therefore nuts and omega 3 are closely related to each other. Omega 3 is the name given to essential fatty acids like DHA and EPA. These fats are required by our body to perform various important functions.

These fats should be consumed through diet and nutritional supplements because they cannot be manufactured by the body itself. Fish oil is the richest known source of omega 3 fats particularly DHA and EPA. However, some vegetable oils, especially flax seed oil, beans and nuts also contain adequate amounts of these fats and should be added to everyday diet.

Dietary experts have recognized the connection between nuts and omega 3 fatty acids. They advise pregnant and lactating purchase pure magnesium citrate to increase their intake of dried fruits and nuts, particularly walnuts. In addition to these, fish oil, vegetable oils and certain other foods should also be consumed regularly to keep these fats to an optimal level in the blood.

Omega 3 rich foods and nutritional supplements are especially useful for people with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. These fats reduce triglyceride levels in the body and cure many illnesses like arthritis, depression, anxiety and gallstones. It is also an established fact that these fatty acids prevent cancer, particularly prostate and breast cancer, and Alzheimer's disease.

Sea food and marine creatures like cod and krill are rich sources of omega 3 fatty acids and therefore they are often used in the making of omega 3 supplements. In addition to this, they also contain optimum levels of vitamin A and D and are recommended by doctors in inflammatory conditions and skin problems.

However, oil extracted from animal tissues often contains impurities and contaminants which have to be removed in order to make this oil fit for consumption. High quality supplements are molecularly distilled and totally safe to be consumed by people of all ages.

In addition to this, also try to find pharmaceutical grade fish oil which is pure and clinically tested. Only this grade of oil is effective for long-term health and helps in the prevention and cure of the above-mentioned health conditions.

Pregnant women are advised to consult their doctor before starting the course of any nutritional supplement product as they may have side effects associated with their consumption. Solely because of this reason you are advised to buy only high quality fish oil and other omega 3 supplements.
